Traveling down interstates and highways filled with semi-trucks and tractor-trailers can make for a nerve-wracking trip. Trucks travel at high rates of speed, they are sometimes over-sized and they are often hard to see around. The medical community and physicians are taking a new, and more focused, approach to concussions and head injuries. Even in recent history, not a lot of attention was given to concussions. The typical reaction was to simply "shake it off." But especially for doctors practicing sports medicine, the evidence indicates more and more that concussions are brain injuries and need to be taken seriously.
