2 people seriously injured in Ohio car crash

According to authorities, a 47-year-old man was struck by a 2015 Corvette at approximately 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 12. The accident occurred on Interstate 71 northbound in Deerfield Township. The man was checking the load on his vehicle when the Corvette driven by a 49-year-old lost control and struck him and his vehicle. After the collision, the man was thrown into traffic and run over.

He was taken to Bethesda North Hospital before being taken to UC Medical Center, and his injuries were considered to be life-threatening. The driver of the Corvette had to be removed from his vehicle before being flown to Miami Valley Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. As a result of the accident, northbound lanes of I-71 had to be closed for about 45 minutes to clean up the scene. Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.

Anyone who suffers injuries in a car accident may be able to seek compensation in court. A personal injury attorney might help an injured individual by carefully scrutinizing accident reports as well as reviewing witness accounts in order to build a strong case for financial restitution of medical bills and lost wages.

If an individual requires long-term care such as physical therapy or an in-home nurse, for example, compensation may be awarded to cover those costs. Any compensation that is granted to an injured victim may be awarded at trial, however, it may be possible to negotiate a settlement outside of court as well. An attorney could possibly negotiate with insurance providers on behalf of an injured victim.
