Passenger car, truck accident leads to child's death

Nothing is more ordinary in the modern day life than running errands and doing the daily chores while driving along the local roads and highways. Most probably never give a thought that this particular errand or trip will end in a tragically life-altering event. One Ohio family has just suffered a horrific truck accident that has forever changed their lives.

According to the police report that has been completed thus far, a driver of a passenger car was proceeding down a local road and slowed the car as it approached a traffic signal. Traveling behind the car was a Freightliner tractor-trailer. As the driver of the car came to a stop, the truck driver apparently did not take action to avoid colliding with the car ahead of it.

The truck slammed into the rear of the smaller vehicle. Police reported that the driver of the car was only slightly injured and the truck driver was not injured. However, a 5-year-old child was a passenger in the car. That child was taken by helicopter to a local medical center. Doctors there were unable to save his life, and he later died from his injuries.

Ohio officials have not completed their investigation into this tragic accident. They did state that it is not believed that the truck driver was under the influence of any intoxicating substances. The family that has lost their son to this tragic truck accident will likely mourn his passing for the rest of their lives. They may elect to seek their own sense of closure by filing a wrongful death suit against the party who may be deemed liable for their terrible loss.
