Child resuscitated after serious Ohio car crash injures several

A parent's worst nightmare is to lose a child, no matter the circumstances. Unfortunately, a serious car crash can occur without any warning and change lives in an instant. One Ohio family recently narrowly escaped having to bury a young child.

The accident occurred on a recent week day in the early evening hours. Officials reported that a vehicle driven by a 36-year-old mother was traveling along a local road with six children in her vehicle. Another driver, a 23-year-old man, was headed along the same road in the opposing lane. Police stated that the second driver then crossed over into the woman's travel lane and hit her vehicle head-on.

Emergency calls for assistance noted that three of the children suffered injuries along with the mother. A 1-year-old girl stopped breathing as a result of the crash. Fortunately, one of motorists who approached the scene was a nurse who was able to resuscitate the child. Four of the victims -- including the young child -- were transported for medical care. The driver of the second vehicle was killed at the scene in spite of attempts made to save his life.

Ohio police are still investigating what caused the deceased driver to cross over into the opposing lane. It is unclear as to the severity of the victims' injuries or their current conditions and prognoses. Regardless, the physical injuries will require time to heal and the emotional wounds may take even longer. Along with the physical and mental injuries, there is likely the ever-mounting monetary burdens that are adding to the challenges for this family. They can consult with a personal injury attorney in order to assess the merits of filing a claim against the estate of the deceased driver believed responsible for the car crash in an effort to seek just compensation for their financial losses.
